MCAC Volleyball Athletes of the Week: Week of September 1-7

Rochester, MN-

The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its volleyball athlete of the week awards for the week of September 1-7. 

Sadie Krahling, outside hitter for Minnesota West Community and Technical College, earned the MCAC South Division Offensive Athlete of the Week honor. Krahling had 37 kills in 11 sets and hit .283 on the week, averaging 3.36 kills per set. She also had three service aces, 19 digs, and 4 blocks, helping the Lady Jays stay undefeated in conference play. Rochester Community and Technical College libero, Jayda Bednarek, earned the MCAC South Division Defensive Athlete of the Week award by digging 117 balls over 20 sets, averaging 5.85 digs per set. Bednarek added seven service aces and 14 assists to her stat total for the week.

Northland Community and Technical College outside hitter, McKenzie Dahl, earned the MCAC North Division Offensive Athlete of the Week honor. Racking up 28 kills over six sets and hitting .415 on the week, Dahl led the Pioneers to two more wins. She served two aces and dug 15 balls as Northland moved to 5-1 on the season. Rylie Fredrickson, middle blocker for Northland Community and Technical College, was named the MCAC North Division Defensive Athlete of the Week. Fredrickson had 25 digs in her six sets, averaging 4.67 digs per set. She added three blocks, four aces, four assists, and eight kills, leading a defensive effort that helped the Pioneers pick up two conference wins.
