MCAC Football Athletes of the Week: Week of September 22-28

Rochester, MN-

The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its football athlete of the week awards for the week of September 22-28.  

Marcave'us Washington, running back for Rochester Community and Technical College, earned an Offensive Player of the Week award. Washington had 11 carries, rushing for 122 yards, averaging 11.1 yards per carry. He also caught one pass for 16 yards in the Yellowjackets' 21-0 win over Minnesota North College - Mesabi Range. Tavion Jackson, wide receiver for Minnesota West Community and Technical College, earned the other Offensive Player of the Week honor. Jackson had four receptions for 131 yards and a touchdown. He averaged 32.8 yards per catch in the Bluejays' 51-7 win over Central Lakes College.

Minnesota West Community and Technical College's linebacker, Stephen Tolliver, earned a Defensive Player-of-the-Week award. Tolliver had 12 tackles with one-and-a-half sacks and three tackles for a loss of yardage in the Bluejays' third win of the season. Nehemiah Young, defensive lineman for Minnesota North College - Mesabi Range, was also named a Defensive Player of the Week honoree. Young totaled six tackles, with three sacks, a tackle for a loss of yardage, a forced fumble, and a blocked field goal in the team's loss to Rochester Community and Technical College. 

Robin Braun, kicker for Minnesota West Community and Technical College, earned the Special Teams Player-of-the-Week award. Braun was seven for seven on extra points and had six kickoffs for 381 yards with three touchbacks. He also punted three times for 131 yards, with a long of 50 yards.
