The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its weekly soccer awards for the week of September 29 - October 5.
There were no nominations for the MCAC Women's Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week or Defensive Field Athlete of the Week award. Manita Monger, midfielder for North Dakota State College of Science, earned the Offensive Field Athlete of the Week award. Monger took four shots on goal and scored on three of them in her first game of the season. She also had one assist and was instrumental in the Wildcats picking up their first win of the season.
Leo Rumsby-Ferris, goalkeeper for Minnesota West Community and Technical College, earned this week's MCAC Men's Soccer Goalkeeper-of-the-Week award. In 115 minutes of action in the net, Rumsby-Ferris saved six of the ten shots taken on goal. He picked up the win over Riverland Community College 4-3, saving three shots in the victory. Mason Bruce, defender for Minnesota West Community and Technical College, earned the Defensive Field Athlete-of-the-Week award. Bruce took two shots and had one on goal in his 180 minutes of defensive action. He was a key factor in limiting his opponents to four goals in the team's two contests. Dario Neves, forward for Minnesota West Community and Technical College, earned the Offensive Field Athlete-of-the-Week award. Neves took five shots on goal, scoring on three of them. All came in the win over Riverland. Neves also assisted on one goal in the team's tie with Alexandria Technical and Community College.
