NJCAA All-Region 13 Football Team Announced

NJCAA Region 13 has announced its All-Region 13 Football Team for the 2025 season, and 26 student-athletes competing at MCAC member colleges have been named to the team.  

Rochester Community & Technical College, winners of the MCAC regular season, had seven players make the distinguished team, and North Dakota State College of Science, MCAC Playoff and Region 13 Champions, named five players to the team. Minnesota West Community and Technical College had six players earn regional honors, while Minnesota State Community and Technical College had three players named to the team. Minnesota North College-Mesabi Range and Central Lakes College each had two athletes named All-Region, and Minnesota North College-Vermilion had one.  

Michael Douglas Jr., running back for North Dakota State College of Science, was named the Region 13 Offensive Player-of-the-Year, and Central Lakes College defensive lineman Keyuandre Watkins was named the Region 13 Defensive Player-of-the-Year. North Dakota State College of Science head coach Eric Issendorf was named the Region 13 Coach of the Year.

Douglas Jr., a sophomore running back for the Wildcats, ran for 1,166 yards this season, averaging 106.0 yards per game. He averaged 8.0 yards per rushing attempt and rushed for 13 touchdowns. He also caught two passes for 30 yards. Douglas Jr. led the MCAC in rushes, rushing yards, rushing yards per game, and rushing touchdowns, and ranked second in average yards per rush. He led an offensive attack that propelled North Dakota State College of Science to the Region 13 title and a berth in the NJCAA DIII Football Championship Game.  

Watkins, a freshman defensive end for the Raiders, had 39 tackles in 10 games, averaging 3.9 tackles per game. He tallied 5.0 sacks and 11.5 tackles for a loss of yardage. Watkins also forced three fumbles, recovered two, and took one back for a touchdown. He also had an interception and broke up five passes. Watkins led the MCAC in sack yardage with 38 yards and led the Raiders to a semifinal appearance in the MCAC Playoffs. 

Coach Issendorf led his Wildcats to a 10-1 season record and 5-1 MCAC record, an MCAC Playoff and Region 13 Championship title, and a spot in the NJCAA DIII Football National Championship Game. His Wildcats' program played for the NJCAA National Championship in 2022, and last season played in the Game One Bowl.
