The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its winter sports athletes of the week awards for the week of December 8-14.
Northland Community and Technical College guard Kenzie Dahl earned the MCAC North Division Women's Basketball Athlete-of-the-Week award. Dahl scored 77 points, shooting 52% from the field and 33% from behind the three-point arc. Playing 86 minutes, Dahl grabbed 19 rebounds, had seven assists, 12 steals, and a block. She had a double-double (26 points and 10 rebounds) in the Pioneers' win over M State.
Central Lakes College forward Delbert Hardin earned the MCAC North Division Men's Basketball Athlete-of-the-Week award. Hardin played 74 minutes through two games and scored 53 points, hitting 22 of his 32 shots. He pulled down 31 rebounds, stole four balls, assisted on two baskets, and blocked two shots. In the Raiders' win over #3 Riverland, Hardin scored 40 points and had 20 rebounds for the double-double.
Minnesota West Community and Technical College forward Katrina Schutz earned the MCAC South Division Women's Basketball Athlete-of-the-Week award. Schutz scored 38 points in 55 minutes of court time, averaging 19 points per game and shooting 46% from the field. She also grabbed 29 rebounds, had five assists, stole five balls, and blocked six shots to help the Lady Jays pick up two more wins.
Ridgewater College forward DeAndre Holloway earned this week's MCAC South Division Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week award. In only 52 minutes on the court, Holloway scored 54 points and grabbed 24 rebounds to average a double-double through the week. He blocked eight shots, assisted on one basket, and stole a ball, while shooting 63% from the field in the two Warriors' wins.
There were no nominations this week for the MCAC Wrestler of the Week award.
