MCAC Baseball Athletes of the Week: Week of April 6-12

Rochester, MN - 

The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has released its baseball weekly awards for the week of April 6-12.

Tucker Brandner, a right-handed pitcher for Minnesota West Community and Technical College, has been named this week's MCAC South Division Baseball Pitcher of the Week. Brandner threw eight innings of two-hit ball during the week, picking up a win in his one start. He did not give up an earned run in his two appearances and struck out 10 batters while walking only two.  

Ales Zhao, first baseman for Minnesota West Community and Technical College, earned this week's MCAC South Division Baseball Position Player of the Week honor. Zhao went 7 for 19 at the plate, hitting .368. He hit three doubles and a home run, while driving in nine runs. Zhao also scored five runs, walked once, and stole three bases during the week. 

Alexandria Technical and Community College right-handed pitcher Jack Lundquist earned this week's MCAC Central Division Baseball Pitcher of the Week honor. In his one starting appearance on the mound, Lundquist threw a six-inning complete no-hitter, the fourth in Legends history. He gave up no runs and struck out six, while walking three, to pick up the win.

Alexandria Technical and Community College shortstop Kobe Snyder earned this week's MCAC Central Division Baseball Position Player of the Week award. Snyder hit .647 for the week, going 11 for 17 at the plate. He hit three doubles and two home runs. Snyder also drove in eight runs and scored 13, while walking six times. He also stole four bases in the team's six wins this week. 

Travis Richter, a right-handed pitcher for Minnesota North College - Itasca, has earned this week's MCAC North Division Baseball Pitcher of the Week award. In a five-inning winning start, Richter did not give up an earned run and struck out three batters. He gave up only two hits, two unearned runs, and three walks during the outing. 

Ethan Sillars, outfielder for Minnesota North College - Mesabi Range, earned the week's MCAC North Division Baseball Position Player of the Week award. Hitting .500 and going 7 for 14 at the plate, Sillars hit two triples and two home runs, and he drove in eight runs and scored two. Sillars had three two-out RBI and had a 1.214 slugging percentage.
