NJCAA Region 13 Softball Tournament Begins on Saturday

The NJCAA Region 13 Softball Tournament will begin on Saturday, April 25, 2026, with six MCAC teams competing in the postseason tournament.  The tournament format has changed from past years and will feature two rounds of tournament contests. The matchups are listed below.

St. Cloud Technical and Community College will represent the MCAC South Division as the South #1 seed. The Cyclones won the MCAC South Division title this season. Rochester Community and Technical College will be the South Division #2 seed, and Ridgewater College will represent the South Division as the #3 seed. In the North Division, Central Lakes College won the title and will be the North's #1 seed. Minnesota North College - Itasca will represent the North Division as the #2 seed, and Minnesota North College - Rainy River will be the North's #3 seed. North Dakota State College of Science will host Dakota College - Bottineau as independent teams from the MonDak Conference playing in the Region 13 Tournament.

The winner of the Region 13 Tournament will advance to the NJCAA DIII Softball National Tournament on May 20-23, 2026, in De Witt, NY. The runner-up of the Region 13 Tournament will play in the North Plains District B Tournament at the NJCAA Region 4 winner.

 

Region 13A Tournament Information:

Location: The first round will consist of a best-of-3 series, and each series will be played at the higher seed (South #2 will play at North #2 this season). The final four double-elimination round of games will be played at the winner of the North #3 vs. South #1 series.

Saturday, April 25 (if games on Sunday, April 26)

MCAC South #3 - Ridgewater College at MCAC North #1 - Central Lakes College

MCAC South #2 - Rochester Community and Technical College at MCAC North #2 - Minnesota North College Itasca

MCAC North #3 - Minnesota North College Rainy River at MCAC South #1 - St. Cloud Technical and Community College

MonDak #2 - Dakota College Bottineau at MonDak #1 - North Dakota State College of Science

 

Friday, May 1 (Host is the winner of the North 3 vs. South 1 series.)

Game 1 - 11:00 am: Seed 1 (MNC-Rainy River/St. Cloud Tech winner) vs. Seed 4 (Rochester/MNC-Itasca winner)

Game 2 - 1:00 pm: Seed 2 (DC-Bottineau/NDSCS winner) vs. Seed 3 (Ridgewater/Central Lakes winner)

Game 3 - 3:00 pm: L1 vs. L2

Game 4 - 5:00 pm: W1 vs. W2

 

Saturday, May 2

Game 5 - 11:00 am: W3 vs. L4

Game 6 - 1:00 pm: W4 vs. W5 (Championship Game)

Game 7 - 3:00 pm: W6 vs. L6 (if necessary)

** In the event of poor weather, the scheduled games may be held one day later.
